Search Engine Optimization Stats Worth Noting

Posted by davidcheek On May - 18 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

One might think I am biased when I say that search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most effective forms of digital, or Internet, marketing because I am a certified digital marketing specialist, and I do more campaigns with SEO than I do with any other type of marketing campaigns. But, I also do many Paid Search Marketing, or Pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns, as well as SMO, or Social Media Optimization programs. I just like SEO maybe, because of the following statistics. Before I get to the... (more...)

If you’re like me, you probably search Google many times a day for products or services that you need or want. Or you might search Google for information about a potential client or employee. Whatever your use is when performing a search, if you would like to become better and faster at it, as well as more effective, and productive, read on. First of all, my disclaimer is that I am a certified Digital Marketing consultant, and I’m online probably at least 6 hours per day. The other 4-6 hours... (more...)

If you are a business owner and are looking for almost-overnight online marketing success, a Paid Search Marketing, also known as PPC (Pay-per-click), campaign might be for you. If you are looking for a longer term, but just as effective (if not more-so in my opinion) strategy, then you might want to consider Search Engine Optimization (SEO). First of all, there’s no quick fix way to jump to the top of the rankings, which is how it should be, as SEO isn’t about who has the most money, and is... (more...)

Some Basics about Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Back in the day, to be competitive in business you needed to have a quality product or service and great customer service. You built a reputation on these two criteria and, combined with good leadership and a healthy economy, you might have yourself a successful business. Today, we live in a highly competitive business culture, where conditions change in an instant. And rival products and companies are created seemingly overnight. If we continue to solely rely on the quality and service that we offer,... (more...)

The so-called marketing experts, including many Pay-per-click (PPC) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) gurus, are happy to tell, or should I say sell, small to medium sized business owners (SMEs) on how to improve their visibility on the web. But as I learned when I first got into sales and marketing way too many years ago, it’s more important to listen to small to medium sized business owners (SMEs) to understand how they’ve been able to evolve their own marketing strategies in a world increasingly... (more...)

Are Mobile Websites (and Mobile SEO) Right For You?

Posted by davidcheek On February - 7 - 2012ADD COMMENTS

When I first got certified as a Digital Marketing Consultant, my head was spinning a hundred miles per hour with all of the knowledge and data and options available for the small to medium sized business owner. And although I learned enough “to be dangerous” about Paid Search (PPC), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Social Media (SMO), my heart was with mobile website design and development. I say that for many reasons. First, it was new and fresh, and not many companies had mobile websites,... (more...)

John Ahearn once said, “The Key to effective marketing is to get people to find you, instead of you trying to find them.” And isn’t that what marketing is all about anyway? When you advertise, whether that means offline in phone books, magazines, and/or direct mail, or online with Paid Search, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Optimization, or Display Ads for example, you are wanting and asking customers to find you, not the other way around. One of my favorite quotes regarding marketing... (more...)

Mobile Internet Marketing in 2012

If you are a business owner, and do not yet have a mobile website, you are missing out on tremendous opportunities! And you do not have to necessarily be an online business with eCommerce. Just check out these statistics: It is estimated that there will be 114 million mobile internet users in the United States in 2012. It is estimated that around 37 million people in the United States will purchase goods or services from a website through their mobile phone. And the rate of Smartphone use will also... (more...)

You Have a Website, Now What?

I read a great article the other day that was so simple, but very good, that I decided to write a blog report (kind of like a book report) about how to get the most out of your website. Now first of all, you know that the Internet is much more than websites and search engines, right? It’s a total web presence, meaning it’s also about blogs, and directories, and multi-media sites like YouTube and Flikr. It’s also about Social Media, Online Reputation Management, and much, much more. And I could... (more...)

There, I’ve said it! And based on everything that I’ve read and experienced in the past 12 months, I fervently believe it. For example, I read the other day on Go-Globe.com that every 60 seconds, 925 iPhone 4S are sold, along with 81 IPads. And every 60 seconds, there are over 180 eBay purchases made online via mobile. And when 1 out of 7 online searches are performed on Google via a mobile device, I’m not the only one that thinks mobile web is going to get bigger. Morgan Stanley analysts have... (more...)
